What do the owners want to achieve
Challenge
A family business that has outgrown its space – time for a new building! The electronics specialist has its own distinctive brand identity with recognizable elements that needed to be reflected in the interior design. With the new design, Lunenburg wants customers to be so overwhelmed by what they see when they step onto the doormat that they’re eager to explore the entire store. As Ron Lunenburg says, “a candy store for adults!” Together with the clear vision of Patrick, Ron, and Jurgen Lunenburg, we began designing, advising, and realizing a unique store experience.
How did we proceed?
Approach
Before creating an experience in the interior, the foundation must be solid. The store layout and strategic placement of product groups in the right spots can ultimately contribute to greater success.
Based on the Program of Requirements, we developed a zoning plan. To the left of the entrance, you immediately encounter the washing & drying section, one of the key product groups for Lunenburg. Straight ahead, a Sonos display grabs your attention. In the back-right corner, you’ll find the elevated presentation of the refrigeration section. To the right of the entrance is the service desk, with the checkout counter placed centrally. This way, within a few seconds, customers can easily find what they’re looking for.
The most beautiful electronics store in Brabant
Result
We created additional experience in the interior by incorporating distinctive elements. A central demo kitchen with a terrace where customers can enjoy a cup of coffee, a Philips living room corner where you’ll want to plop down on the couch, various electric fireplaces for a cozy atmosphere, and a cobbled path that begins outside and guides visitors through all the product groups inside the store. In short, a unique experience store that radiates Brabantse gezelligheid (Brabant hospitality) and the feeling of coming home.
Ron’s favorite element
‘The connection between the office and the store itself: thanks to the glass wall on the second floor, you can easily see what’s happening in the store from the office. As a visitor, you immediately notice that there is more to explore beyond just the store.’
A luxurious and unique look
With tailored interior solutions
For this interior project, we exclusively used authentic materials. Concrete, bricks, wood, greenery, steel, cobblestones, and other materials were all carefully selected. Additionally, we brought the outdoors inside by incorporating a lot of greenery and creating a cobblestone path with lantern posts and a park bench. The use of natural materials contributes to a unique and luxurious atmosphere.
The extensive custom work ensures that the furniture truly aligns with Lunenburg’s identity: the floor platform with a “Lunenburg red” border, the central red column highlighting key service values, a flexible retail system finished with steel and wood, and the display tables for small household appliances, each with grooves to neatly hide the electrical cables.
