A few years ago, we designed and realized the upper floor of EP: Beerepoot Hoorn, the electronics store of North Holland. Now, it was time to revamp the ground floor! The goal: to stimulate the customers’ senses in every corner of the store. From the coffee section at the front to the playful TV area at the back of the store. The design of the ground floor aligns with the recognizable EP: Beerepoot concept and has been further developed with the latest interior trends, tailored to other product categories. This way, a seamless connection has been created between the two floors!
Profitable store layout and routing
Strategic design
We also considered a logical store routing and the distribution of product categories across the floor space. Upon entering, clear sightlines provide a good overview of the store and the location of various product groups. From the entrance, the counter, the coffee section with LED lighting, small appliances, the TV corner, and the LED screen with video content are immediately visible.
Organic shapes
Trend
While the upper floor features many straight frames, we introduced organic shapes on the lower floor, combined with the recognizable straight frames. The wooden frames on the lower level are primarily atmospheric and create dynamism and a connection with the upper floor. The organic shapes break up the rigid design and contribute to a pleasant shopping experience. The choice of materials adds to a consistent atmosphere across both levels.
Multifunctional furniture elements
The store concept consists of multifunctional furniture that can be adapted to the season, trend, or product group. The custom presentation furniture is specially designed for EP:Beerepoot, ensuring a perfect fit within the overall design. In the display window, there’s a custom cabinet wall that is open on both sides. It’s ideal for stylishly showcasing products both inside and outside the store.
The wow-Effect in the coffee corner
Interior solution
Brass, marble, and wood create a stylish corner in the coffee section. The three custom presentation units with rounded edges display the coffee machines in a playful yet organized manner. LED strips are placed between the acoustic panels, a striking element that emphasizes the identity of Electronic Partner.
Maison Berger Integration into the design
A standout product range at EP:Beerepoot is the Maison Berger home fragrances. The challenge here was to seamlessly integrate the Maison Berger store concept with the EP:Beerepoot retail concept. Inspiration was drawn from the flagship store in Leidschendam, leading to a balanced approach between the two concepts.
Successful store transformation
To ensure the success of this project, we worked closely with the client. The store remained open throughout the renovation by first addressing the front section and then the back section of the store. This approach minimized disruption for the business owner, employees, and visitors.
